Changes

Today I celebrate my 400th post on my blog with a well-deserved new look. The old template was the one I started with way back in August 2005, almost 4 years ago... It seems like so long ago and so many changes since then. Lately I have been thinking of all the changes around me. In a few weeks time, Mr. Nemo and I will be celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary and I will be effectively quitting my job in the agency and being re-hired by them as a contract employee. At the same time, I will be launching my own translation business, which is something I have wanted to do since I was in high school. I have also decided to enlist some other changes in my life. The first starts with me joining the local gym! Anyone who knows me, knows that I hate gyms and doing anything that resembles exercise. But in a bid to get healthy, and improve my chances of one day falling pregnant and having a healthy pregnancy, I have committed myself to this new project, which I am calling "Minus12.5" as I have set myself a goal of losing 12.5kgs.
I am hoping that the shift to being a contract employee and working 3 days at home on agency and freelance work will give me a little more flexibility in my hours so I can learn to love my local gym! That is the plan! Wish me luck!

Good luck with all your new adventures, sounds exciting. J is a bit of a gym freak, so if I can pass on some of his advice, it would be to stick to it for at least 3 or 4 months because it takes a while for you to see the changes. And if you hang in there that long, then going to the gym will have become a habit, and you will keep wanting to go.

My gf just pulled me to the gym today to do combat boxing workout, boy was it good for the arms, abs and thighs, it was actually quite exhilarating, think my body needed it! I bet i'll be sore tomorrow though!

Yasu and i will celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary on 7th april (also my 31st birthday) did you get married around that time too?

Best of luck with the gym- i am like you and avoid it like the plague but I know I should be more keen- especially considering how fit I was when I was younger. I don`t mind classes though and sometimes it is easier to make yourself work hard for those 45 mins than it is by yourself.

Good luck with the baby making too!!!

TJ--Thanks for the advice from J. I figure it is not going to happen overnight, so I am giving myself till my birthday in November.

Kelly, sounds like you are doing great with your gym efforts! Good on you! Yeah, I saw the link to cute blog designs on your page and others a lot lately. But I confess, I stole the live traffic feed widget from your blog!!HEHEHE!
Nemo and I were married on March 29th, which is a Sunday this year!!! Yeah!

Lulu, thanks for stopping by! I think you are doing so well with your weight loss journey. Inspiring. I hope that I can find the right exercise for me. I love to swim laps, but only first thing in the morning. I used to do it everyday when at uni, and felt so engergised and alive everyday. It sucks that the gyms dont open till 10am here. I just dont get the same pick-me-up as when i swim in the mornings.
